When you are giving a late night/early morning feeding and your baby has just drifted off to sleep, do you wake them up if you hear *something* down below that you think could be #2 and check the diaper? Or chance it for a few more minutes/hours of sleep? I was wondering how many mamas take the 'chance it' route when I did just that at 4am. Lucky for me, he just had gas. I was just soooo tired and he had just fallen back asleep. Ugh!

I don't chance it - I need all the sleep I can get! If the smell lingers I'll change him next time he's awake. Right now he's only sleeping for 45 minutes at night before waking up again so...

I usually won't chance it, unless I can smell it.

I had this dilemma early this morning and I thought about ignoring it, but I knew it needed changed and it did. But yeah, I had to go through the whole process of getting her back to sleep. I'd rather not chance her getting a rash, though.

I can usually tell the difference too. I always change him before I feed him anyway, and he usually doesn't poo until after I've put him back to sleep. Since we've already dealt with a round of mild diaper rash, I keep A&D Ointment on him at night.

I go ahead and change it. Luckily for me, once she's asleep, she usually sleeps through me undressing her and changing her again. DREAM.COME.TRUE
