Does anyone elses LO's fingernails grow like crazy? I feel like I'm always filing Sophia's.

So, how do you take care of their nails and how often are you doing it?

I either bite them, or if they are just barely hanging on, I peel them off. There's usually one or two nails a day I do this to.

I use the baby Emory boards but they don't seem to do much.

I have to file his nails every 3-4 days or he ends up scratching himself. When we were in the hospital, the 2nd night when he came back from the nursery he had scratched up his face and I felt so bad He hates having his nails filed, though, so I wait until he is very asleep and then do it.

I've tried several things too and found baby nail scissors work great. I feel like I have much more control than I do with the clippers, which seem way too big for her tiny nails still. The scissors are small and blunt and seem to leave a smooth edge too, since Laila's nails grow like weeds!

I use baby nail clippers. Filing seems to do nothing, and I'm not steady enough for the scissors. If I've just clipped them, and they're still sharp, I'll file them a bit.

This! I don't find Philip's to be growing that fast, despite the fact that he IS growing fast.

I have to file at least two or three of Aubree's nails every couple days. Then, the day after I do a couple, I notice a few more need to be filed. I really try to keep up with them, and I think I'm doing an ok job at it since she still hasn't scratched her face yet, not even once. Mikes cousin and his girlfriend have a 4 month old and they came over to visit a couple weeks ago and his face was all scratched up. I looked at his nails and omg they were extremely long! I know his cousin does the baby's nails but he obviously doesn't keep up with them like he should! I filed the poor kids nails.. I'm scared to use clippers so I file them

I clip them whenever I notice they are long. Probably every other day?

I haven't had to cut them yet (he is 9 weeks old) as they seem to just break off on their own for which I am very grateful.
