Becky - I was hoping you'd respond since I know you have a background in this type of stuff. Glad to see you're planning to do the same!

Zayd has only had a few since birth, & Dalya hasn't had any yet. Like BeckyBozeman, I am very weary of getting my kids vaccinated, but obviously know the risks of not doing so. It's by far the most difficult decision I've ever made as a mom. My biggest hang up is seeing / knowing so many children affected, some severely, by vaccines. Obviously there are kids who've been affected by not getting vaccines, so it's like choosing the lesser evil. Sigh. At the end of the day, you've gotta do what you feel is best for your child.

And yes, my pediatrician is open to whatever one chooses about vaccines, but she's very sure to 'beat into' parents who forego vaccines that a healthful lifestyle (diet, especially) isn't a choice but a must to ensure a strong immune system.

We will be going with the recommened schedule for vaccines and be getting him the requirred ones for daycare/school. I'm unsure if I want to go through with getting him the rotavirus vaccine or not and we also will not be doing flu shot vaccines.

I've decided to go with this schedule A User-Friendly Vaccination Schedule by Donald W. Miller, Jr., MD

It's made the most sense to me with everything I've researched.
