So I had my 6 week check up today. I've been wondering why things are still very sensitive, and occasionally painful, down below. Well apparently I had some adhesions form over my stitches, and not all of them have dissolved yet! My doctor broke the adhesions (that did not feel good!) and then she trimmed the stitches. So I have probably another 2 weeks before I try DTD.

On a happier note, I found out my new insurance covers the cost of a breast pump! So I called on Monday and ordered it. It's a Medela and I'm so excited.

yikes! I was so nervous something would be off with my stitches. no fun. That's great about the pump, though! I should look into it, just for emergencies. Did you have to call your insurance company to find out or was it listed on their website or something?

I called the insurance company and asked. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC. They pay for a retail quality pump, and it has to be ordered through a durable medical equipment supplier.

That sucks about the stitches...ouchie! Awesome about the pump...hope I can get mine Maggie, I searched the internet for does Aetna cover breastpumps and came up with a link to providers. I went with one that supplies the PIS as I have another Medela so I could share parts and filled out the form. We shall see! Search the same with your insurance type and see what you come up with maybe?

I did the same too. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN and got a free double electric pump as well. From what I understand its a part of the new reform Healthcare not just specific to BCBS... sorry to hear about the extended healing process..hopefully the next couple weeks just blow right by
