Are there nights when your baby just won't go to sleep? What do you do? Do you just let baby stay up until baby is ready to go to sleep or do you put baby to bed anyway?

Last night Jacob just didn't want to go to bed. Well DH was working and I was really tired and wanted to go to bed. So I put his swing in front of the tv and let him watch tv until he fell asleep. I then just let him sleep in his swing. I felt like a terrible mother letting him just sit there and watch tv but I was so tired and just wanted to go to bed.

Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy

I think that's totally fair! It's not like you do it every night or that you were passed out drunk or something!

We usually let Kira stay up until she's ready to fall asleep, which luckily is almost always before 10pm.

We do the bath routine starting around 7. Normally she is ready for bed at 8 or 8:30. Some nights she will go to sleep just fine at the normal time, but then by the time I'm ready for bed, she is ready to party. In that case, I do just what you did, Melissa. Swing and tv. I too feel somewhat guilty about it, but like Carolyn said, it's not every night. It's not even every week! Sometimes I resort to things I wouldn't normally do just to get some rest. And it only takes her about 20 minutes of tv time and she is ready for bed again.

We don't have a swing so that is not an option for us other wise that would work . I just take her to a dark quiet area, tone down the play, and walk her.
