Are you sure it's earwax? When my 3 year old was a baby, one of her ears started leaking gross gooey stuff, and it turned out she had an ear infection. Of course it didn't look like earwax, and if your girl hasn't been fussy then it's probably fine, that's just the first thing I think of. If her ear drum had ruptured it would be more watery, not thick like earwax. Anyway, just thought I'd bring that up!
My son had issues with ear infections and had tubes put in twice. It kinda sounds more like an ear infection with fluid pooling. Sometimes the ear drum can get a small whole causing a dark sticky substance to drain out. It closes with treatment. I'd get it checked out just in case. Most of the time I wasn't aware he had an ear infection since he didn't act like he was in pain.
Cam gets gunky ears from time to time, but it's clearly orangy yellow ear wax. And no pooling, just a clump here and there. Really grosses me out, so I try to keep her ears clean. Akadia's were like this when she was little too but they don't do this now.
