Kira had zero diaper rash at all until just about 8 months old and now we can't seem to shake it. We've tried anti-fungal creams, Bordeaux's Butt Paste (both original and extra strength), triple paste...no luck. I tried using plant-based diapers and that made it worse. We've been using the same brand of diapers and wipes since birth (Pampers Swaddlers and sensitive wipes).
Sometimes it looks like it's about to clear up for about a day but then comes right back. We've literally been fighting it since Christmas. I let her butt air out until dry after every diaper, I put the cream on...no luck.
Should I just call the pediatrician? I feel stupid calling about diaper rash, but it's been three months and it hasn't gone away.
Ugh, poor Kira! It might be worth calling the doc, especially since its been going on for so long and nothing seems to be working. I know you said you tried pretty much everything but once Jackson had a crazy awful rash and someone recommended mixing aquafor and triple paste together and applying liberally and it really worked!
I would call the dr. when Jacob was around 3 months old he got really bad diaper rash, so bad that his little butt crack bled. I thought it was something worse than diaper rash but when we saw the dr she said it was just a really bad case of diaper rash. She recommended extra strength Boudreaux's Butt Past which I see you have already used.
did you get rid of the thrush on Kira's rear? Could it still be that she has the yeast? Jacob's dr gave me a prescription for a Nystatin Cream that helped get rid of his yeast.
that's what your dr is there for. So if you can't get rid of it I would definitely call and see what your dr says. Are you putting the diaper cream on at every diaper change? I figure you are but I know that helps when Jacob has a rash.
Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy
When Rylynn had a bad diaper rash we mixed Aquaphor and Desetin creamy in the palm of our hand and then applied it to her tush, and it was better in a matter of hours, and completely gone with in 2 days. I feel so bad when they have that, you know it's got to hurt!
