So am I the only one who talks to their LO when out and about by yourselves? When grocery shopping, I'll tell her what I'm buying and what I'll be making for dinner and such... Think I got a weird look from an eldery lady-lol...........

I do! Lol. I'll tell him what I'm doing and ask questions. Like "what should I buy for dinner" or hold up outfits I wanna buy for him and ask what he thinks. I'm sure people look at me like I'm crazy.

I do all the time! It's really good for them and both my doc and his pedi have complimented me on it.

I always take advantage of baby time as quiet time. I'm weird that way, but my kids constantly talk to her, so I'm not worried.

I think it's good to do too. They can understand you long before they can communicate (talk) themselves. I talk to Cam all the time and not in baby talk. I just talk to her like she's another person. Was the same way with Akadia too.

Narrating the things you are doing help build your child's vocabulary and is completely normal. As a teacher, I wish more parents did this.

We do this with DS2 and did this with DS1 who is now four and reading and comprehending first grade books. It's the best way to expose them to a variety of words. We also never used "baby words" or cute words in place of the regular name for things either.
