What kind of car do you drive?

What's your favorite mixed drink?

If money were unlimited (and you had no complications) how many children would be in your family?

A few more....

How many different places have you lived?

Where is the farthest you have traveled to?

Dogs or cats; pick one!

After you're done having kids, would you ever consider plastic surgery to, ahem, perk things back up?

What kind of car do you drive? Kia Soul

What's your favorite mixed drink? There’s this alcoholic chocolate banana milkshake that you can get at one of my fav restaurants…. It so yummy!

If money were unlimited (and you had no complications) how many children would be in your family? I have always wanted 3 kids… If it was ok health wise and DH was ok with it I would love to have a little boy… I have always wanted to raise the kind of man that you only dream about your daughters being able to marry, one that is respectful, kind, generous, and treats his wife like the queen that she is. *sigh*

But I feel honored to have the opportunity to raise 2 strong, independent ladies, who will be able to stand on their own two feet, ladies who are after God’s own heart, and compliment any man that they marry.

How many different places have you lived? My mom moved around a lot when I was a baby which included Orlando, FL; CA; But I was born in Las Vegas lived there until I was in the 10th grade, moved to Conroe, TX (North of Houston) and lived there until I was 7 months preg with Hannah, and then here in Oklahoma.

Where is the farthest you have traveled to? London. Awww so beautiful…. Loved it there. I would like to go back some day, maybe travel to London, Paris, Germany, Ireland… ahhhh, someday!

Dogs or cats; pick one! That’s easy, Dogs! Ryan is allergic to cats.

After you're done having kids, would you ever consider plastic surgery to, ahem, perk things back up? Yes. I have considered looking into lipo, and maybe a breast reduction and lift…. But I also think of how proud I would be to know that I reached my weight loss goal on my own…

whats your fav movies- Steel Magnolias all the way…..I can never get enough of it… Love it!!! And just recently saw Les Miserables….. Loved!!!! Can’t wait to own it….

do you have a fav outfit….. honestly Jeans, nice shirt and my boots….. I may have been born in the city, but I am a country girl at heart.

what are your hobbies- Anything that has to do with my family. I love being able to spend time with them…. Cook for them, play games, cuddle and watch movies, bake with Hannah… If it’s just me then I opt for a good book, glass of wine, and a nice hot bubble bath… (I might have to do that tonight actually)

This is a 2 story question…..
(Story 1, part 1)
I knew that after getting divorced that I would be single for awhile. I didn’t want Hannah getting attached to guys and them walking away. So I stayed single. But once I felt ready to date again I began to pray “Lord, where is the man you created for me. I’m ready to date again.” All I remember is hearing “Right around the corner baby, just right around the corner.” I waited about 6 months and nothing happened. So I prayed again, and again I heard the same reply..

(Story 2)
My husband and I met at a friend’s birthday party at a karaoke bar. I was there waiting for my date (Who had prev stood me up before) and I decided that If he stood me up again that I was done. Well instead of my date walking in, Ryan walked in instead. He ended up sitting across from me, and we got to talking. He asked me to dance and then later came to my house to watch a movie. I ended up at his place and we spent one passionate weekend together, after I had implied that I don’t normally go to a guy’s home on the first night, and he replied with “Ya, it takes a special guy for me too.” I figured he either swung both ways, or was a smart a$s and I didn’t care either way. Later that week I asked him the dreaded “So, where do we go from here?” and he replied “Your cool to hang out with but…..” I hung up crying my eyes out…… Well, turns out that all it takes is once, and I found out I was pregnant. I was determined not to tell him, cause things were already so complicated with my ex and Hannah, that I knew I could raise this child on my own. But my friend told Ryan instead and we started dating. Unfortunately we lost that baby, but we developed a love for each other that grows stronger every day. I’m lucky that I got stood up that night, because the man of my dreams walked through that door instead.

(Story 1, part 2)
Remember me telling you that I prayed for the man that was created for me and the reply I got was “Right around the corner baby, right around the corner.” Would you believe me if I told you that Ryan’s desk was literally right around the corner from mine at work? Amazing huh. If I had known that God was being literal I would have gotten up and walked around the corner.

I love the story of you and DH, Raina. I know your week is almost over, but do you have a family pic to share? I'd love to see your whole family. And if not that, maybe one of those cute DDs!

I know that you are a very Christian lady – Raina. Were you raised that way, or was your faith something that you developed later on in life?

Well as y'all know I'm Raina, I'll be 30 next month. Ugh can't believe that I'll be 30 already. Where did the time go? DH is Ryan and he just turned 35 on the 8th. I have 2 beautiful daughters; Hannah is 8, and Sophia will be 5 months on the 2nd. Boy, does time fly! DH and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary on the 24th of next month. We've been together for the past 6 years. I'm an administrative assistant at the Federal Aviation Administration. Basically, I'm a well paid secretary. I prepare student packets full of information for the instructors to hand to students the first day of class. I enroll students in classes and make sure they receive credit for their classes. (Everyone that attends passes, unless they go home before the class is complete.) I basically keep my instructors sane, as it that was possible. They're all former pilots that were in the military. I really enjoy my job and the people I work with. DH works at AT&T and although he says he is happy, I know he would be much happier somewhere else. We have been talking a lot lately and I am going back to college. I'm going to be getting my degree in childhood education. So hopefully by the time Soph is 5 I will be graduating with me degree. At least that's the plan. I know it's a hard road ahead of me, but it will be worth it when I get that degree and I can better the lives of my daughters. Hannah is in the 2nd grade and she loves school. She is the light of my life! We had been through Hell and back together. We have been through a divorce and marriage, through her genetic illness diagnosis (Neurofibromatosis, although she doesn't know) and we have been through good times including the pregnancy and birth of her baby sister. She is my rock! She keeps me grounded, keeps me sane. It's sad, and I'll deny it till my dying day.... But I can imagine my life without a hubby, without Ryan, but I can imagine my life with out Hannah or Sophia. My girls are my world. That may be wrong of me, that I make no apologies. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my husband and I am so very blessed to have him in my life. But I have been a single mom before so I know it won't end your world to be one. Any who..... Soph is amazing. Colick is over... Thank god! Now she's usually a happy go lucky girl unless she is hungry and then she is one pissed off lady! Lol but she is babbling, cooing, playing, and brightening the lives of those around her. I am so lucky and blessed to have the life I have, and the loved ones I have!

What made you decide to have a second baby?
I have always envisioned having 3 children. So having a second was necessary in getting to 3…. But seriously….. we have so much love to give, and I wanted Hannah to have a sibling to play with. I never intended for my kids to be so far apart in age…. 8 years really is like starting over again. It’s long enough to forget all those sleepless nights, the fussy baby, teething, spitting up….. but short enough to want more….. Growing up I never had the same goals as other people my age. Some aspire to be an actor or actress, so a writer, biochemist, or president. Me, I wanted to be a mom. I wanted to be the best mom possible to my children because I have so much love to give. My only regret is not having them closer in age….. but who knows maybe that’s the best way for us. My heart hurts knowing that I can not have another child, knowing that I will never get my little boy. But I am determined to raise a couple of strong, independent, I don’t need a man to make me happy, opinionate women. The world better get ready for that. Ha!

How has Hannah adjusted to being a big sister?
Hannah is AMAZING!!!! She is handling being a big sister better than I expected. She is so helpful, loving, and considerate. She never makes me feel bad for taking care of Sophia, even if it encroaches on her time. Instead she jumps at the chance to help me, to play with her sister, or to sit there and make silly jokes to ease the moment. God I love this child!

Do you cook/bake from scratch? If yes, share your fav recipe.
I love to cook and bake. Sometimes I don’t always get the chance too. But I always bake the deserts for our family functions… so that my mom and hubby can eat them to without messing up their blood sugars….. Splenda is my friend.
Since Pumpkin Pie is my fav…. Here is a recipe for diabetic pumpkin pie… I swear it taste better than store bought.

• 1 deep dish pie shell
• 3 large eggs, Beaten
• 1 (15 ounce) can solid-pack pumpkin
• 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
• 1 cup Splenda granular, sugar substitute
• 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes or until a fork inserted into the center comes out clean…. YUM!!!!

What's the wildest color you've ever dyed your hair?
You ready for this….. The way it is now…. Dark with Burgundy Highlights… I know… I’m wild huh

Do you have any brothers or sisters?
Yep! I have 7 brothers, and 3 sisters (That I know of, My mom only had 4 of those sibling…..)
But the one’s I have relationships with are…. .
Erik (35, Medic in the Army), Melissa (29, D.C), Andrew (28, Cook in the Army), Daina (27, the sister that has gone loopy, and took my nieces out of the state), Raymond (He’ll be 26 in Sept., Airforce), Joshua (He’ll be 25 in Aug., He’s getting married in June!)

I know that you are a very Christian lady – Raina. Were you raised that way, or was your faith something that you developed later on in life?
]Both. I was brought up in a Christian home, and accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior early in my life (Age 4). My mother is a pastor, and performed the wedding for Ryan and I. In a perfect world every child would know that they are loved, never be hurt, never see violence, and never witness a parent dying. Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world. My biological father was extremely abusive. My earliest memories are those of my father beating my mom and me trying to save her. At 4 yrs old I had a tumor in my left hand, and I knew that Jesus could heal me. So every Sunday when the pastor would ask who needed prayer I would run to the front of the church to receive my prayer. I never had surgery cause my tumor fell out on its own…. Mystified the surgeon. Then a couple of months later I watch my father’s health deteriorate and become unable to move off the couch, and die of cancer. At 9 I went through preparing for court because I was raped, but the man was never tried because I tried to end my life before he could fulfill his threat of killing me and my mom. At 19 I married the man of my dreams, or so I thought. But he turn out to be abusive and addicted to pornography, to the point that I found him holding my 8 month old daughter looking at it. So I took Hannah and left. When Hannah was 5 I found out she had an untreatable, uncurable genetic illness. I tell you all these things because anyone who has been through all this should not be ok… It would be completely understandable if they had issues, needed therapy, needed some form of assistance, or had lost it. But my God is amazing…. He is a wonderful healer, counselor, dad, friend, and lover of my soul. He has carried me through all of these things and more. Just when I thought it was more than I could bear, that I couldn’t possibly handle what was laid before me, He picked me up and carried me. When the church has turned their back on me, and I had no one to turn too, He was always there. So yes, I accepted Christ at an early age, but He has continued to develop my faith and make it even stronger.

TV Show?
Book?

What does your perfect day look like?

Favorite pasta shape? (Mine is penne!)

When you feel like splurging – what do you choose to splurge on:

1.) At a restaurant?
2.) At the grocery store?
3.) Online?
4.) When you have an hour to yourself at home?

What is your favorite verse of scripture?
Luke 10:27; he answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.”

I firmly believe that if we can do this, just follow this scripture right here then everything else will fall into place.

At this very moment, what is your favorite song?
Billionaire by: Travie McCoy Feat. Bruno Mars
This is me…. I would love to have all that money just to spread the wealth and make people happy.

Movie? Les Miserables…. LOVED IT!

TV Show? Grey’s Anatomy

Book? I’m a mom, I really don’t get a chance to read anything… Book, what’s that… hahaha

What does your perfect day look like?
My perfect day….. happens once a year…. Christmas! I love winter, snowing outside, a nice fire going in the fireplace (So warm, cozy, and inviting), family at the house for the day to spend time with each other, kids all giddy and excited to see what Santa brought them. Me giddy and excited because I get to cook and bake for my family, and I get to buy a whole bunch of presents for my loved ones and they cant say a thing about it, cause its rude… they better take my presents and love it! Haha! Seriously, you know Scrooge….. well I am exactly the opposite…. There is a reason that my xbox screen name is Mrs. Clause…. Hohoho! It’s never been about what I get materialistically… because being surrounded by my family and friends, sharing love and happiness and of course food…. That’s all I need.

If you could live anywhere in the country (money and proximity to family not being an issue) where would you like to live and why?
East! Some place where you get all 4 seasons. The spring is beautiful with flowers blooming, the trees and grass are the greenest you have ever seen. The summer is hot but not over bearingly hot. The fall is cool, and the trees have different colored leaves. Winter there is snow on the ground and fires going in the fire place… and my ex-husband is nowhere in the state…. That’s where I want to be.
Why? Who doesn’t want all 4 seasons…. And I would have my girls with me all the time…. I would never have to send Hannah away.... well except for like 6 weeks in the summer, but for me that’s more manageable that what I do now.

Favorite pasta shape? (Mine is penne!) Bow Tie pasta! It’s so formal…. haha

When you feel like splurging – what do you choose to splurge on:

1.) At a restaurant? The Melting Pot!! (Nothing like a girls night at a fondue restaurant )
2.) At the grocery store? Lobster, I love to cook Lobster at home, but rarely can
3.) Online? Shopping, of course… usually stuff for the girls
4.) When you have an hour to yourself at home? If I have to be alone… then it’s a bottle of wine in a HOT bubble bath….. If I can have someone… well include DH in the above

What magazines do you subscribe to?

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

Do you see any bad habits that you've passed on to Hannah?
