Michaela has a bit of cradle cap...just wondering if any other owlets have had it and what has worked to ease it up.

I got some stuff at the chemist today but they didn't have a choice so it's really just a stab in the dark as to whether it'll do anything...

Ava had a little bout of it at 6 months old. I coated her head in coconut oil for about 30 minutes and then gave her a bath, massaged the area and washed her hair a few times to get all the grease out. I brushed it with a comb to get the last specs out and all gone!
I've also heard any sort of olive oil will work, if you don't have any coconut oil on hand, but its a cure all in our household

Paxton's had it forever. It resists everything but it's been slowly going away over time to where he only has one little patch left so I just decided to leave it alone.

MIcah had it pretty bad starting a few weeks after he was born and nothing was working so I went on amazon and bought special shampoo called Bella B and a comb made just for cradle cap and it worked like a charm. Now I just use it once a week for "maintenance" and he hasn't had a speck since

Plus he LOVES the comb he flutters his eyes in bliss when I use it lol.
Thank you Bokkechick for my siggy!

I've used mineral oil on Audrey when she had it really bad, olive oil on Sam and coconut oil on Sarah. I think the coconut oil worked the best to soften the cradle cap and also washed out of her hair better than the others.

Elias had it so bad for the first few months his poor head looked all yucky We put some baby oil on it and let it soak, then used a very soft baby brush and went in little circles to get the bits to come off. Then we washed his hair 2-3 times to make sure the oil was gone. After 3 times of doing this, it was all gone. Just make sure not to try and get it all off at once or you might make her head sore. She'll be fine. To keep it gone, we just make sure we really message his head when we bathe him.

I've heard olive oil isn't good because it's a protein and feeds the yeast that causes cradle cap. Emily used to get it pretty bad and I bought a Little Remedies lotion for it that you rub on, comb and loosen the scales and shampoo. I've also used mineral oil and that worked just as well. I was using J&J shampoo for a while but I heard that can contribute to cradle cap so I switched to an organic baby shampoo. I think it's Aveeno. You can also mix in a little bit of dandruff shampoo. She's been flake free for about a month now.

Elise hasn't had any (wow!), but Owen had it pretty bad. I just picked at it ALL the time-- I couldn't help myself!! I didn't do anything except bath his head nightly and combed his hair. Seemed to help a bit. He just really had to grow out of it, I think.

Thank you Vicki for an beautiful siggy!

Theo had it but his hair covered it so I didn't do anything for the longest time. When some of his hair fell out you could see it and I was able to brush it out with a comb.

Xavier has some. I just try to wash his hair well and massage his head when I wash his hair with both my fingers and a wash cloth. He has one patch on his hairline that I can't get to go away at all. It used to be really bad but I think he just kind of has been growing out of it. I might try the coconut oil though.

Thank you Vicki... for my awesome siggy!
