From the minute I found out I was pregnant my supply has taken a serious dive.
There are days when I nurse Finn that he makes a sour face. I think the taste must be changing. There are days when he is frustrated at the breast and I supplement.
I have tried nursing more to increase my supply. It isn't working and I find myself exausted even though I'm taking my vitamins. I'm eating well and drinking tons of water.
I guess my question is do you think this is okay for now? How do I continue to nurse when the colostrum comes in? Doesn't this baby need it or will I keep producing it?

I have never nursed while pregnant but others have told me that the supply, while it does take a dive and tastes different, comes back and you should be able to nurse normally again. Theres a lot of great info on this page, good luck!!!

I wish so much that I could nurse through pregnancy, but I dry all the way up when the hypermesis kicks in at 6 weeks. I have no experience with this but I know some other gals here will have great encouragement and advice. I think your concerns are common, but I think all the lactation gurus are very encouraging with tandem nursing. You may need extra vitamins, but I think it's perfectly fine for all involved.

I've nursed through 2 pregnancies and never lost my milk supply. If you are interested in continuing I highly suggest you read Adventure in Tandem Nursing. It has lots of great info about nursing while pregnant and nursing both kids.

As long as you keep up the demand, your supply should come back. The more you supplement the less supply you will have. The taste of you milk will change several times through out your pregnancy and Finn may or may not like it. Don't worry about making enough colostrum for the baby, your body will make enough for both and it certainly wont hurt Finn one bit. You may see a change in his poop but it's nothing to worry about.
