Sorry I've been absent. I got a job at a grocery store and it's making me miserable. My friend got me the job, but apparently she wasn't much of a friend and is ruining my job experience. So I'm looking for a new job or switching departments.
Genevieve is 16lbs! She's 5.5 months old and eating solids. She doesn't get them on a daily basis though. Mainly when she's with my mom which is 3 days a week. She loves bananas and pears and that's about it. She'll eat squash sometimes. ha.
I've had to start supplementing because I couldn't pump at work. I didn't have enough time, and I would get harassment if I tried to take an 'extra' break. I know that's illegal, but my supervisor has made it very clear that he doesn't like to deal with anything. He just brushes everything under the rug.
I do breastfeed when I'm with her, but it's not a lot. She'll get a bottle and then finish off with breastmilk. She's happy though and growing fast. She's got two teeth and working on her third!!
I'm going in next wednesday to talk to my primary about Mirena as well. I need some birth control and I need to get back on my anti-depressants. Another reason I've been supplementing. I can't breastfeed and go on meds. My mood swings are just to much to put off any longer though.
So that's what's up with me! Thank you for reading
Ugh, boo! Your supervisor sounds like a prick, excuse my language!
I've missed you! I'm glad Genevieve is doing so great. Haha, yea I've heard it's best to introduce veggies first and wait a little while before introducing fruits because babies tend to prefer the sweeter tasting fruits vs the dull taste of veggies. Just keep offering the veggies, she will decide what she likes and dislikes. Don't feel guilty about weening her off of breast milk, you made it longer than a lot of women do.
I hope you can figure out a less stressful solution to your job situation! It's good to hear from ya again
He is. He tries to hard to please everyone so he just basically does nothing that is conflicting. Ugh. I've missed you ladies too! I've just been busy with work and being all miserable about it haha.
My solution you ask? Why woodchuck and angry orchard of course!
Instead of wine. mhm.
I should have introduced veggies first!! I didn't even think of it! She didn't care for the oatmeal and I never give her rice. My mom does though she mixes it in with her food.
I make my own baby food with the baby bullet and organic foods! I know exactly what is going into her little tum tum. It makes me feel really good that I'm at least doing that for her if I can't breast feed.
That stinks! I've actually read that it helps the transition for BF babies if you do sweeter foods first since BM is so sweet. Also it's good to have them try a food 10-15 times before writing it off as a dislike since taste buds often need time to adjust and the brain to figure it all out.
Glad you're trying to take care of yourself and hope you get a better job soon!
