They don't NEED water at this age - They get enough from breastmilk or formula.

That being said - I give my daughter a sippy cup with water. She doesn't drink much, if any, but I'm trying to get her use to the sippy cup.

He gets a bit every other day or so from practicing with his sippy cup. Maybe 2 mouthfuls?

I give him a few sips here and there when I have a glass of water. He loves the act of drinking of out of the glass.

She has a sippy cup. She gets water after she eats solid food (to wash it down). More goes onto her shirt than in her mouth lol.

Thank you Vicki for my wonderful siggy.

Just for fun if he's sitting in the high chair munching on a cookie or whatever solid food he could get his hands on. He just figured out his sippy cup and thinks it's a blast.

I give her a sippy cup once in a while just for practice, but I don't think any of it gets in her mouth lol

Yes, since 6mo M has gotten a straw sippy cup of water after each solid as rec'd by her Ped.

We all need a drink of of some kind with meals....same applies to babies to help wash it down.

At Elias's 9 month check up this last week, the Pedi said he could start having 2-4oz of water a day to try it out and to play with the sippy cups. I gave him a bit in a sippy cup and he hated it; he looked at me like, 'What the heck is THIS crap? And where's my milk?" He doesn't really like his sippy cup either. Oh well.

Finn gets some water every once in a while. He reaches for my glass!
I think he loves the way it feels on his gums.
He isn't a fan of his sippy cup but I put about 2-4 ozs. of water in there for him to get used to it!
