We just tried giving Emmy a tiny (less than pea size) amount of mashed avocado and she made a horrible face, just like with the banana. But then the bit of avocado slipped to the back of her mouth/tongue and all of a sudden she started gagging horribly and her face even turned a little blue; she looked like she was going to start vomiting. I grabbed her, turned her belly down and started patting her back hard and she spit it out. But it wasn't that she was choking on it, I think, more so that the taste or texture was making her gag very badly.
Does this mean she isn't ready for solids yet? She turned 6 months old on the 25th. I'm still shaking a bit because it sacred me so bad. lol.

She might not be ready for that much texture yet. Abigail can do okay with a little texture, but George has to have his food absolutely velvety-smooth or he hates it. It takes a little experimenting to figure out what they like sometimes!
