Introduced the sippy cup to Melody! She played with it for awhile but now she is going to town on it . She just recently started to want to hold her own bottle so I figured we would give this a try since Sophie started using one around 10-11 months. With Sophie she was much more stubborn so we did the whole cold turkey thing and would only give her the sippy if she wanted the bottle, took about 30 hours until she gave in and after that she drank from it like a pro .

Way to go, Melody! Luyando drinks from her sippy but also likes to spit the water/juice out and play with it when she is not thirsty. She won't drink her bottle if she doesn't initiate i.e hold it and lift to her lips herself. She doesn't mind you helping hold it in place afterwards but she won't accept her bottle if you lift it to her lips! DD1 was all for someone holding the bottle for her.
