Has anyone taken LO to the dentist yet? Evan has 9 teeth now but I haven't taken him to the dentist yet because he won't be covered under our dental insurance until January 1st. His Dr recommended going to see a dentist sometime soon at his last appointment in June but I told her about the insurance situation so she said just to get him in ASAP in January. I feel kinda bad about holding off so I was wondering if anyone had gone to the dentist yet & what they said/did?
Raini has 9-10 teeth hast been to the dentist here the only dentist that take our insurance wont see kids til they are 4. I just use gum cleanser for now and let her brush her teeth, she loves to brush!
We took Ethan to the dentist when he was 9 months old. He had fallen really hard and bruised his top gums. He didn't have any teeth there yet so we were worried about them not coming in correctly. Everything ended up being fine. They basically just looked at his mouth, put a little fluoride on the teeth he did have and told me that my insurance wants me to bring him back every 3 months until he's like 3 then its every 6 months. We went back right after he turned a year old and they just did the same as the last appt and we have another one in a few more months.
My dentist and pedi said to take them between 3 and 4 yo and when they will tolerate it. No need to take them before then, so don't feel badly. I am kind of surprised that so many of you have been told otherwise. I just brush her teeth once or twice a day. I did the same with Reagan, she has been to the dentist a few times now because she is 4.5.
