So I am confused and do not know what to think. If any background is needed then I can provide it. How long do you generally have to be to see a sac or anything on an ultrasound? What are levels range at (for normal) at 5 weeks? I h ave a follow up appointment on Monday.

HCG can vary hugely between pregnancies and the normal range for 5 weeks is 18-7,340. They say that you should be able to see a sac when your HCG is 1000-2000 but my beat friend didn't see anything until 7 weeks. The thing they look for before ultrasound will show a baby is HCG doubling every 48-72 hours but there have been successful pregnancies with very low HCG levels.

I will keep you in my thoughts that you see a sac and a heartbeat soon.

I am worried because once doing an exam I began to bleed. Not anything major at this point and I am hoping it won't be anything major. I just hope that the exam did not cause issues as he was there for quite some time with the ultrasound wand.

You can see a gestational sac at 5 weeks and generally soon thereafter see a yolk sac (by 5 weeks 5 days). By 6.5 weeks a fetal pole should be visible.
