So, I'm laying here with DD and I didn't move or anything I just felt a "shift" where my uterus is and then some pretty sharp pain. The pain only lasted a few seconds... Any idea what that was?

I couldn't tell you specifically but there is a lot going on it our bodies right now. Organs being pushed, uterus growing, joints relaxing....

I'm totally paranoid, since my Csection is so recent I always feel like I'm going to rip the incision or something. It hurts when I strain my abdomen... So that worried me a lot. Maybe it was just some really weird gas or something...

My guess would be gas. Things are all grumbly in there.

Might have been a ligament pain. If you think of your uterus like a boat that is roped to a dock by 3 ropes (one from either side to the right & left sides of your pelvis and one down to just above your tail bone). The uterus kind of "bounces" and such, since it's basically just floating in there, and any time it shifts it yanks on a rope. And since you have nerves in those "ropes" it hurts. Your growing uterus is now trying to crowd out your bladder, kidneys and intestines, and they don't always just glide past each other. Sometimes things stick a little and then suddenly give.

I'm assuming that if there was some sort of uterine rupture it wouldn't be a pain that would go away.

Brittanie - I'm sure it wasn't. Id be in a lot more pain if it was! It's just something I'm always worried about. That my uterus won't be able to hold up to the strain of another baby so soon. And that was a great way of describing things

I don't remember where I got that metaphor from, but when I was pregnant the first time I went googling because I wanted to figure out what round ligaments were and why they hurt so bad! It was such a good mental picture, I've been sharing it ever since.

Sounds like what my gas pains feel like. I'm sure it's nothing serious since the pain doesn't last very long!

Gas or ligament pain I'd bed.

If it makes you feel any better in my last ddc one of the mommas had a c/s and then got preggo 5 weeks after the baby. All was well. I wouldn't worry too much

I have no idea what that was. Maybe a really big gas bubble shifting?

Don't panic mama. I had a c-section with my first and I got pregnant with my second about the same time as you (my girls are 13.5 months apart) and my doctor assured me that it should be scar tissue by then and unable to be damaged per se. So if you didn't have any complications, I wouldn't worry about it.

feythful - Thank you for that! That does make me feel better. I haven't been able to talk to any other c-section moms specifically that have had two so close together, and I haven't been to my OB or Midwife yet. So it's always a thought with ever cramp and ache.

I'm pretty sure I remember a lot of cramping and tugging at the beginning because I remember asking other moms if that was normal. I think it's more to do with the closely placed pregnancies more than the section though. Our uterus is probably like "Dude, I just got back to my pre-pregnancy size and now you're all at it again?!"
