we had our first appointment and ultrasound yesterday. based off my LMP and a normal 28 cycle length, I should have been 7w5d. the baby only measured at 6w4d (and there was a heartbeat). when the doctor asked me how long my cycles werei told him about 30-32 days. i didn't know a longer cycle length had an impact on anything. so with my LMP and an adjusted cycle length of 32 days, i should have been 7w0d yesterday - which means the baby is measuring more accurately. either way though i go back in 2 weeks for an ultrasound, and then another 2 weeks after that for another ultrasound. guess we'll find out within the next month if everything is going good...
GL! I think the heartbeat is a good sign. My baby measured three days behind at first and then at the follow up u/s two weeks later, baby measured 2 days ahead. So baby had grown 5 extra "days" in the two weeks. I think it's hard to get a perfectly accurate measurement when they're so tiny. Also, the longer cycle length usually means you ovulate later, so you conceived later in the month than someone with a 28 day cycle that started on the same day. So that would put you a little earlier along.
I think everything sounds great! I also agree with Joni its so hard to measure exactly and now you have more oppurtunities to see the baby. I know its hard not to worry at this stage. I worry all the time with no real reason!
