Gah! I am so disappointed. I lent all my maternity clothes to my SIL. She gave them back several months ago, but I never bothered to look at them until today when I was taking inventory of what I have. There is a number of things missing and several items have large stains on them like something was spilled. Some of them were shrunk into a miniature person size. Also she threw in all my other SIL's maternity clothes into my stuff so now I have to separate it out. I'm kind of pissed off that I will have to shell out some money for some new maternity clothes when I really shouldn't need a thing.

Would you say anything? Or just deal with it? I know she doesn't have any money (and I suppose I don't expect her to) to replace them. If it were me (I know accidents happen), I would have mentioned the fact upon giving the clothes back.

Idk, I would probably chop it off as another lesson learned of why i never lend stuff out and leave it there. If she didnt have enough respect to tell you in the first place, then even if she had the money i doubt she'd make it right.

Yeah, I think you need to let it go. I only lent clothes to one person, my size, who took really good care of them. Mostly when I give/loan stuff, I try not to expect it back.

I am just so surprised. She has the cleanest house I have ever seen and seems to fastidiously take care of her stuff so I never in a million years expected this. Most of them are still fine though so there is only a few things I need to replace. I'm just hope all the baby clothes I lent her come out in better condition.

I think I would be irritated but I wouldn't say anything. She may have thought, I didn't pay for them and they're used so who cares? Who knows. Personally, when I loan out things I've already used, I don't expect them back. If they come back, great, if not, oh well I've used them already.

That's unfortunate. I've borrowed baby clothes before and have talked to the other about stained stuff. She just brushed it off like it was no big deal, fortunately, and I did buy her a couple new things just to make up for it. But it sounds like she isn't that respectful. And honestly, baby stuff is SO MUCH easier to stain than maternity stuff, so I wouldn't expect those to be any better.

I'd definitely not expect the baby clothes to come back looking so hot....with spit up, throwing up, poop explosions, and messy eating...that'd be a miracle. If I "lend" baby clothes (or any clothes for that matter), I'm not really expecting them back.

I'm so sorry she didn't take care of them or say anything about it! I agree with the other ladies and not say anything and not lend anymore to her.

Well, hopefully we will have a girl this time and then the baby clothes won't really matter
