Sorry ladies for not responding sooner. I have been checking in and reading, just haven't felt like responding much . Well my hubbys tests are negative. So that goes to show you that there can be mistakes made. I am so mad obviously is he doesn't have it and i didn't have it 2 months ago they made a mistake. I called the ob this morning just to tell them what I think and they have me coming in for a visit to talk about all this! I may just switch offices after this week just cause this whole situation. I understand mistakes can be made but this could have ended my marriage!

I am glad everything is ok and hubby is negative!

It might not be your OBs fault, but the lab it was sent to. It could have been a contamination issue, or switch up at the lab as well

I think you are too kind. Kind people give the people around them a hard time. You can't express yourself honestly, because you are worried about hurting other people's feelings, and that makes you miserable.~"Winter Sonata"

Thank the LORD!!! I know it must have really shaken your marriage, and I'm so sorry you had to go through this, but I hope you both can get through it and know you trust each other completely and love on each other now! ((HUGS))

Wow. I would THINK the issue is with the lab. You may want to ask for the report because the doc's office might just tell you what they received. Something has to be done, certainly!

I am sooooo happy for you that it was only a mistake, and nothing more. I mean it really really sucks that it was even a mistake, and thats too much stress to put on anyone.

Try to findout if it was a lab error, or if it was an error with the dr. I don't know if you have this where you are, but where i'm at in Canada you can actually view your lab results online. I'd suggest if you have that to look online and see if it's the lab results, or not.

I'm so glad for you that this was a mistake. It stinks that this happened and that you had to go through the thoughts and fears that I'm sure you've gone through. Hopefully you can find out what exactly happened.

Hallelujah! After you told your story I googled it and saw TONS of stories of false positives on those tests, particularly for pregnant woman. How stressful! What a relief that you have proof.

I'm so glad that his test was negative. I'm sorry you've had to go through this craziness.

As far as changing offices, I would wait and let your emotions settle some before you make that decision. My sister had 2 different labs with 2 different doctors tell her the wrong blood type because of mix up issues. I know that this is an emotional issue for you and your husband, but there are mistakes that can be made in so many different places with lab issues, that it's hard to nail them down. The people working in the doctor's office and the lab are human, after all. If this was the 20th mistake they've made this pregnancy, I'd tell you to move somewhere more competent without any hesitation, but if this is the only mistake that has been made, then maybe give it some time. Especially if you're comfortable with your doctor.

Well I had a visit with the OB and of course they apologized. They said they are still looking into what happened. They said they had a patient that day with the same first name who tested negative. They are having some patients retested, but hey said all evidence points to the fact it was a mishap. Also that men normally test positive before a woman will and based on the numbers they received someone had to have had it for a lengthy period of time and not someone less than 8 weeks. I do like my OB office and they have been great at treating my HG so that makes me hesitant to leave, but am afraid they will mess up lab work again! I have my NT tomorrow and blood work. Part of me thinks they will be extra careful with my specimens ,but you just never know. I just hope hubby doesn't get upset I doubted him. I didn't want to be that woman who is naive... Thank goodness it turned out to be a mix up.

It's absolutely normal that you would think that maybe he gave it to you. You're not at fault there. If I were him, I'd be upset with the lab or OB's office not you.

Wow, what a big mistake to make! I'd be really PO'd about it. Glad it all worked out to be nothing though and you have some clarity.
