I think you are too kind. Kind people give the people around them a hard time. You can't express yourself honestly, because you are worried about hurting other people's feelings, and that makes you miserable.~"Winter Sonata"

I love "The Monster at the End of this Book" and "The Saggy Baggy Elephant"

Right now, Em is OBSESSED with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We read it twice each day and she insists on continuing, even though she has most of it memorized already.

My sons loved the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and If You Give a Moose a Muffin books. They loved Thomas the Tank Engine stories, too. DD doesn't have favorites yet. She likes whatever I read to her. When I was a kid my favorites were Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and the Boxcar Children books.

I don't remember any of my favorites from childhood, but as an adult I am so in love with all of the books on Five in a Row's booklists! Here's the list for ages 2-4 at the bottom of the page: Five in a Row – Before Five in a Row (2-4).

My 15yos's were The Big Green Pocketbook, I am an Artist, Jesse Bear What Will You Wear, The Story of Ping...

My 13yos's were Katy and the Big Snow, Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, St. George and the Dragon, The Princess and the Kiss.

My 10yos's was also The Big Green Pocketbook and Where the Wild Things Are, The Tawny Scrawny Lion.

My 7yog's favorites were Little Mommy and The Good Humor Man.

My 3yog has a different favorite every week, but they're usually (old) Little Golden Books.

What are YOUR favorite children's books? I loved The Boxcar Children.

If you are BTDT mom, what are your littles' favorite children's books? Lately she's obsessed with Strawberry Shortcake. We have one hard back book with six stories. It's the bedtime favorite.

The ones that stand out to me right now are, If you give a mouse a cookie/pig a pancake/moose a muffin, good night moon(i liked finding the mouse hidden on every page), rainbow fish, the very hungry caterpillar, where the wild things are, chicka chicka boom boom, berenstain bears books, and the missing piece. I'm sure there are so many more but I cant think of the names right now!
