Do you or your family regularly volunteer or donate to any groups?

Are they local, national or international?

If you had unlimited time and resources, what would you like to donate your time and money to?

Do you or your family regularly volunteer or donate to any groups? We live in the inner city and LOVE our library, so I have volunteered there off and on for years. Leading story time, crochet class, art appreciation class, and my teenager volunteers there once a week and has taught drawing Manga classes.

5% of our church population is made up of refugees, so I'm excited to just be getting plugged in with their fellowship and English class. I'll have the opportunity to teach twice next month. The church also tries to get big welcoming parties together to welcome new refugee families, as they come into the airport.

This is a new church for us, and we searched for YEARS before we found it. I honestly didn't think we'd ever find a home again, but we LOVE IT!!!!! It's pretty diverse between liberals/conservatives living happily together in love and grace as well, and that is sooo refreshing after having felt so oppressed for so long. Anyway, we volunteer any chance we get~food bank, cleaning, set-up/take-down, etc.

Are they local, national or international? Mostly local, but I do have international charities I've donated to in the past. Internationally I love Hardwired right now, fighting for religious freedom for all people all over the world.

If you had unlimited time and resources, what would you like to donate your time and money to? There are too many to choose from! I think it would vary often probably?

I think you are too kind. Kind people give the people around them a hard time. You can't express yourself honestly, because you are worried about hurting other people's feelings, and that makes you miserable.~"Winter Sonata"

~Just one more thing: I think one of the most neglected areas of giving can be caring for one another. Knowing the needs of your friends and neighbors and meeting them when you are able~be it groceries during financial hardship, washing dishes/doing laundry/cleaning toilets during hardship, bringing a meal during sickness, etc.

Emily and I have gone to pack boxes at the food pantry for our church and also to pack bags for kids who don't have food over the weekends. I love watching Em run back and forth with the goods as directed by everyone. She's so cute and proud that she's helping. I was hoping to get Josie involved this year, but she doesn't listen to anyone...ever. Last year, we visited some senior homes around the holidays and Valentines day. I'm hoping to get back into that.

I used to give to a few charities internationally, but working in the schools was a good reminder that there are plenty of families here that need our help, so since it's easier for us to give our time and resources locally for right now, that's what we're doing.

I don't volunteer right now... but If I could I would absolutely love to be able to be able to volunteer at an animal shelter/rescue.

I would also love to be able to bring my dog to the hospital or senior center. She's a big shepard mix but she's the sweetest thing like most. I want to share the love and comfort I recieve from her.

I'd love to help out the less fortunate in the community some way. When I was little at christmas time, my mom used to let us pick out presents for a family that wouldnt have a christmas otherwise. I was young at the time, but I defintaly would love to do that with my kid..

This isn't really volunteering really but I wanted to share because I think my "auntie" (shes really my grandmas friend but close to the family) is amazing. She is in her 80's and takes the bus everywhere. Every single day, or most days she will invite a homeless person to have lunch or dinner with her at Rickies which she will pay for of course and hear there stories out. She said not one has disrespected her and the experience humbles her.

I've done some work at the local food bank and got involved with Blessings in a Backpack. Obviously both local charities. I did enjoy getting involved with both of those charities, if I had extra money I would probably donate to either those particular charities or something similar.
