Absolutely not . Its done a lot actually, I have my fathers first name and my mothers middle name combined (sounds weird but its not ) So my honest opinion is that it is NOT weird at all, in fact its a good way to have a piece of your name and your partners (if you're using his lastname)

Not weird at all!

That's a tradition in my family on my father's side. Nearly all first born girls have the same middle name or have the middle name from their mother. So my middle name (Marie) can be traced back through five generations. Last names change, but middle names stay with you.

My middle name is the same as my mother's and my grandmother's middle names. If baby 3 is a girl, she will get the same middle name. It just hasn't worked out with the first names we've chosen up until now. I guess I might be biased, but I don't think it's weird at all!

Not weird at all!

My family takes it even further Many of my cousins gave their daughters their first name as their middle name. My Great grandfather had ALL of his children have his name as their middle name. Even the girls. They all had the middle name Charles. I loved it, we even considered Charles as a middle name for a girl if we had one.

Long story short, I say go for it!

Don't think it's weird at all! Actually, my daughter's FIRST name is her father's middle name. (he's Matthew Aaron, and she's Erin)

My middle name is my mom's middle name. I'm considering giving it to the girl twin as a middle name, if it matches with her first name. If not, I"ll save it for a future girl.

Not weird, very sweet! Our son will have DH's middle name, which is in turn his dad's middle name. If it were a girl, she would have my family middle name (which is not mine because my parents didn't like Julie Jeanne but every other woman in the family has it) going back to my great-great grandmother.

I'm not a huge fan of Jr. but I love family middle names!
