So I have my scan today at 2 and I have to say, never in all my pregnancies have i been nervous about the anatomy scan. Today, I am a bundle of nerves. The excitement of finding out the gender is over, we knew at 15 weeks along with the T21 diagnosis from the MaterniT21 test. I guess I am just anxious because I want it to be ok... I want this scan to have no surprises, just good, happy things for my baby. I will have a fetal echocardiogram in a few weeks too so that is more anxiety, but for now, I just want to get in there and see her. I will update when its over.

UPDATE
I am sorry I didn't come on yesterday to update. Its been so very busy around here. Anyway, the scan went great. The tech was awesome and told me everything she was doing head to toe. I watched as she did all the measurements of the major parts. Every measurement she took added up to 18w3d which was perfect. Nothing was too small or anything. The heart, kidneys and brain were my big concerns and doing some research I knew some of the things they were looking for as soft markers or even hard markers for Down Syndrome. Nothing was seen.
The MFM specialist then came in and did another scan more closely at the heart....his words were "perfect." He looked at the entire scan done by the tech and said the whole scan was "beautiful" and asked me if I was sure I didn't want to do the amnio...? I didn't and won't but he asked because the scan looked so good. DH suspects that the doctor thinks the either the M21 test was wrong or the baby has a very mild form of DS (Mosacism). Of course I don't think the test was wrong but I am over the moon that the baby looked so good on the scan. We have our fetal Echo in a couple of weeks at Children's Hosp in Boston and then I see the MFM doc once a month from now on for a growth ultrasound. So far everything looks good. Thanks for all your support!

Good luck! I. Know exactly what your mean. I'm usually so distracted by finding out the gender that I don't think too much about things that can't be wrong lol
