Well I finally got DH to sit down and discuss names seriously, instead of throwing out ridiculous suggestions. We actually went with something totally different than that I/we had been thinking before. The girl will be Colleen Alice, and the boy will be Kevin Henry. We think Colleen and Kevin go together well for twin names, being they both start with the C/K sound and end in N, but aren't too matchy either.

Colleen is the name of my paternal grandmother, and Alice is a name used frequently in DH's family. Kevin we just kind of liked, but we each have a cousin named Kevin and DH's isn't doing so well healthwise so he thought it would be nice to name him that. Henry is a name used frequently in both our families.

Now we are trying to figure out godparents...if we should do 2 sets, or one set. We are leaning towards 2 sets, but haven't made a final decision yet.

We told a few people yesterday our name suggestions and most people like it...except two of my family members had to be ***** and make other name suggestions. I was like "The names are set, they are not changing." W-T-H don't people get about that? I announced the names, didn't ask for your opinion or suggestions. :/
mgail and hugssandi like this.

Very classy! I think they are great twin names I bet it's awesome to have that decision set and to be able to call them by name now (ummm... yeah, this pregnancy and the last will probably go all the way til birth til we can agree...)

Anyway... We never did godparents, but from what I understand, wouldn't the godparents' responsibility to care for the children if something were to happen to you (or is that no longer practice)? If that's the case, I would almost go for 1 set, so the twins are cared for by the same people... but if that practice is no longer, then 2 sets would be nice

Yes...I have to decide names early because I like to call them by names. If he didn't decide this weekend, I would have just started calling them something anyways without his input.

Yea, that's not really the case. It's purely for religious guidance, at least for us and the Catholic Church. My 2 kids now have different sets of godparents.

Well.. then... 2 sets is wonderful! So many people can feel special and a total part of the lives of these miracles. What a wonderful honor.

Great names! We use family names, too. Congrats on nailing it down~it can be difficult!
