Will you be preserving your babies cord blood?

Why or why not?

Have you stored cord blood before?

Have you looked into donating cord blood?

What is your decision based on?

Anything else you'd like to share?

Here is some information about donating cord blood for those that are interested!

We haven't decided if we are or not yet. My FIL has chronic Leukemia so I want to talk to him about if he would possibly be interested in using it.

Will you be preserving your babies cord blood? Not for ourselves

Why or why not? Mostly cost based and because there are others who need it now and we have no family history

Have you stored cord blood before? No

Have you looked into donating cord blood? Yes! I plan to do it this time. Last time I couldn't because I had a tattoo within a year, which I have this time as well, but now the rules have changed and you can as long as it fits other criteria.
What is your decision based on? Why trash it when it could save someones life.

Anything else you'd like to share? I encourage everyone to look into donation!

I've thought about it for all 3 pregnancies, but man, it's so expensive... but is your baby's/family's health deserve a price limit? Such a hard choice! I'm definitely going to think about it AGAIN!

Its something I really want to talk about, I haven't looked into it much, though. I'd feel amazing if I could save someones life because of a decision I made

donating it if I can. It's TOO EXPENSIVE for me to bank it for myself, unfortunately.

Will you be preserving your babies cord blood? no way, my baby will get all of their own blood

Why or why not? because i believe it is WAY more beneficial to the baby to have their own blood.

Have you stored cord blood before? nope

Have you looked into donating cord blood? yep

What is your decision based on? research

Anything else you'd like to share? let your baby have all their blood

The decision is entirely cost and need based. I doubt we'll be donating it either due to the regulations and hoop jumping that is required at our hospital.

I hit no as well, but also didn't know you could donate it. Its too costly for us to bank it.
Thinking about delayed cord clamping now... I also wasn't aware of it until this pregnancy.

I was thinking letting baby have own blood, too, but again, I've not researched anything.

It would be nice to do, but we simply do not have the money to spare for that. My sister got lucky and they did it for free with her last baby if she agreed to be a part of a research study.
