It was negative!!! Yay!!! I was convinced it was going to be positive.

My hemoglobin was a little low. 11.3 (I think) so she recommended I take iron supplements. I'm not sure which kind or what dose to take, though. She didn't specify.

thats great! I have never heard of having this test so early...I always have it at 27-28 weeks. I wish I could do it now to get it over with.

Get one that is "slow FE" or something like that, that specifies it's gentler on the digestive system. They can REALLY cause constipation if you're not careful. I have been low a couple times and was always told to get an OTC box/bottle and take them as directed on the box until it's gone.
Oriyan likes this.

Don't be scared, I was terrified! Especially since I have blood sugar issues even when I'm not pregnant. I couldn't sleep the night before, because I was so nervous, but you know what? It wasn't that bad! It really wasn't. The drink wasn't horrible, and I only felt a little dizzy for a little bit after I drank it, but after that, I felt ok. Just bring a good magazine or something, cuz it's hard to concentrate on a book with all the commotion going on around you.

Yeah I took it early. My doc ordered it cuz I've been feeling so faint. I thought it was my blood sugar, but I guess not. Maybe the low hemoglobin is causing it. It just doesn't seem like it's THAT low. Not low enough to be making me feel faint, but who knows.

That is what I take. Even the Slow Fe causes me issues, i have started drinking 1, 12oz coffee per day to keep things moving. I only take it 3-4 times a week though otherwise I am backed up.

So glad for good results!

I have mine probably in Mid Sept sometime. I have to do the 2 hour cuz my doc's office doesn't do 1 vs 3 hour anymore. It's just the 2 hour and if you fail, you are on the GD test and if you pass, you're in the clear. No double testing!

Yes! Mine was also two hours! It wasn't that bad. I mean, I was bored, but my husband came along to keep me company, and he went out to buy me a magazine, so it wasn't horrible.

Glad it came back fine. I have iron issues while pregnant too. I expect to have to start a supplement soon too.
