This has nothing to do with our DDC, but I wanted to share some happy news!!
My sister, who has only just been married a year, just had her baby today!!! My mom and I were with her and her DH most of the day while she was laboring as moral support to both of them. It was great for me, because the hospital she delivered at is one that DH and I have been thinking about having our LO at. I got to see their L&D floor, see the equipment and nurses in action, and then see the Recovery rooms, and nursery, and see how amazing those nurses are. It was a fun experience. We are both FTM this year. It was a fun day. My sis checked in at 6:15, they broke her water and started her on pit. My mom and I got there at 10:30, and the first words out of my sister's mouth were "I got an epidural". Her goal was to go unmedicated. She and I had talked a lot about it, and how we both wanted to try and go without andy drugs. It made me giggle that those were her first words to us rather then hello, or I am glad you are here. My mom and I went for lunch at 11ish, and she was at a 4 so we figured we had plenty of time, we were so wrong. We got a text from my BIL saying that she was at a 9 almost 2 hours later. We got back quick, the doc came in checked her, and said she was ready to push. We left, and then after 16 minutes of pushing, my nephew was born. 16 minutes!!!!!!! My mom and I were both floored. We let my sister, her husband, and their new son be a family for an hour or so, then went back and saw them. My mom was so excited and antsy to get back there right away. This is the first grandbaby for her. It was so neat to be there for her.
