My sweet "baby" girl started Kindergarten on Wednesday! I had NO idea how freaking much this would take a toll on me. My God, from getting her up, getting the kids breakfast, dressing, hair, getting 'baby' up, getting them in the car, driving to school, drop off, visiting with teacher for a sec to assure the first days go well, going to the gym to work out, to the store, home for lunch, putting the kids to bed (and me!) up to get DD from kindergarten and home to cook and do whatever housework I can muscle up... all before dinner, I'm BEAT!

Then, after dinner, cleaning up dishes, getting her lunch and 2 snacks ready, getting her clothes ready, bathing kids, putting them to bed and THEN off to work (here at home, online) I go. Jeesh.

I need to get a better routine going cuz this is harsh.

We're going to try for DH to drop her off in the morning, as he is a teacher and the high school starts a few minutes later than elementary and she can get dropped off a little early with supervision in the playground. If this works, man, that would be an amazing help, even if he can only drop her off 3x/week.

Anyway, just a vent because I'm beat and can barely think

Ahhhh.... much better DH got her up and ready this morning. Of course, her outfit doesn't EXACTLY match (he forgot to put her in the clothes I had out, and she picked her own top), but all's well. She left with a smile on her face, lunch in her bag (that I made last night) and a full tummy of breakfast. They left only a couple of minutes later than they wanted, so I hope there wasn't any issue with traffic, but we live out enough that he can make up a little time if he SPEEDS and cops are rarely out by us, so just have to watch for elk, deer and other little wildlife crossing the road.

I have a headache, but DD2's still sleeping and DS is eating breakfast and happy as a lark, so this may work!

Sounds like you have a lot going on!

Just some ideas: You could put together her snacks and lunch components on Sunday so you have one less thing to do every night. I LOVE this idea for planning lunches. Fill it up on the weekend and every day you pull one from each drawer. Organized Chaos: Lunch Box Items | Blessings Multiplied

You could also make some easy grab and go breakfasts for those mornings you're running behind.

Those are great ideas. I boiled eggs today and will probably peel on Sun night so I can also just pick up one of those and she can snack on it (she loves boiled eggs). We're hitting Sam's next week when the IL's come to visit for DS birthday, and we're probably going to get a million things I don't mind packing her lunch, but MAN with everything else I had to get used to doing, the week's been crazy!

DS starts preschool next week, too (1 day a week to start: Thursdays), so add another lunch and clothes to the mix No biggie!
