I'm soooo not looking forward to this test. I was borderline GD last pregnancy and controlled it very quickly and very well with a loose following of the GD diet. I just hate being restricted, even though I knew it was good for me, and I HATE testing, even though my doc had me only test 3x a day instead of 4 or 5 since my numbers were so good.

I'm pretty sure I'll be doing the 2 hour test some time soon. I *think* I may be able to do so early next week, as I'll be 25 weeks and my IL's are in town so it could make for a MUCH easier test than if I had to chase 2 LO's around for 2 hours, too. I just hate the test and waiting for the results. UUUG!

Anyone else on the horizon of getting the test done?

I already did mine at 22 weeks, because I wasn't feeling well. It was normal, but I wonder if they'll make me do another one, since I did the first one early.

I hope not.

I did one at the beginning (8 weeks?) because I'm fat And I have another one next week. It's so hard to keep that nasty sugar water down! I hope the results are good, the first one was.

Good luck!

Due to my weight/age I'm having the test early. It will be my next appointment in September. It's never been an issue for me before, somehow BIG MAMA still has normal-sized babies (and u/s confirmed I'm right on track), so I'm not really concerned.

I declined the test and opted to have them poke my finger at 28, 30 and 32 weeks. As long as my number are fine, they will leave me alone. Seems like a win win to me! I test my own numbers at home and I am usually low (So sugar overloading me on an empty stomach -- NOT a good idea)

I did a 1 hr at 12 weeks and I'll be doing another 1 hr next week. I have that orange crap in my fridge waiting for me. It's the same sugar content as about 14oz of mt. Dew, wish I could drink that instead.

OH, I would TOTALLY rather have the mt dew and snickers combo! Why do they have to be so cruel? I have to go to the hospital or maybe my doc's office (now has a lab) can do it. It's a PITA, but whatev. It's my 4th, so... I know to bring a protein bar and eat a nice meal after. I learned my lesson after my first when I nearly passed out and was sick afterwards. Blech.

I had to do the 3 hour GTT at around 12 weeks with DD, right in the midst of bad MS. I am shocked that I made it through without getting sick. It wasn't pleasant at all but I'm so shocked and glad I didn't vomit or pass out.

I'm thankful that I can drink the stuff at home and then go to my OB's office 10 mins before the hour is up to have my blood drawn. I hated having to wait around when I did the 3 hour.

I'm going for the 1 hr this Thursday and I HATE drinking anything orange. My mom is watching the girls so I don't have to worry about having them behave at the lab for an hour.

About the different combos~I have a whole list of things I could do instead of the drink, but you still have to down them in five minutes!!!! That little drink = SO MUCH EASIER. I did the Brach's jellybeans one time, so believe me, I know of what I speak! LOL! Seems SO much easier than it is....

I had a 1 hour last Monday morning and haven't heard anything, they said no news is good news so I'm thinking I should be good. I drank the little orange bottle and it really wasn't that bad, I thought it tasted like an orange popsicle. They also didn't make me fast. I was allowed a high protein, whole wheat breakfast so I had some eggs and whole wheat toast.

yeah when i did it i didnt have to fast either, they said not to, actually, because that will cause an abnormal spike in blood sugar.

my midwife just did a BS on me because she was doing a hemoglobin anyway, so one poke and 2 tests. makes you less risky at the birth center for her insurance purposes if you do it..but im not giving birth there so i dont know why she wanted it so badly (new midwife, first week...whatevs they were pokin me anyway!)

I think I am going to decline it this time. Even if I did for some reason have it this time (never have before), I am not going to restrict my diet...I can barely eat enough as is and my weight gain is nowhere near what they want it to be.

Ugh I have mine in like 2-3 weeks I think? I am going to ask to eat jelly beans or something else as I threw up with Greyson and had to re-drink that nasty crap! My friends doc had her eat 15 jelly beans in 15 minutes....I could do that!

I took a test earlier on since I have had it the last two times. I passed that test...by 1 point...so I am not sure if they will make me take it again. I'll ask tomorrow.
