My husband will tell me absolutely NOT. We have 2 big dogs (a German shepherd that's 18m old and a border collie/lab mix that's 7 years old)
I really want a corgi or a west highland white terrier. I want a small pooch to sit in my lap we have a cat, too, but Ellie is getting old and I just really want a small dog! Talk me out of it it wouldn't be instant, anyway, because we only get dogs from rescues and do not support breeding at all...but grrrrr I really want a little puppy!!!!!!!

Girl...after doing the puppy route once, I'm not sure I ever want to venture down that road again. So cute, but the constant waking and walking and crying....I just don't have the patience. Maybe when the kids are older, but I doubt it.

I don't mind the puppy stage. We do puppy classes for manners and I have a pretty quick and sure fire route for potty training...you pee in my house you get a big squirt of vinegar, pepper and tobacco sauce mix sprayed in your mouth. You pee outside you get a nice large chunk of turkey dog and 2 puppy treats. Both our dogs were house broken in about 3 days, as was our old dauschaund it's what we always recommended for people when I worked in the vet clinic, too. And we crate our puppies. The whining gets old but it goes away in a few days. Once they hit a year they don't have to get crater anymore. And going through a rescue, you never know what age you'll get! Ellie is from a shelter and was 8m old and diesel was luck of the draw, 12w old purebred from the Mississippi valley German shepherd rescue but he and his litter mates had been abandoned. But we would take any dog with a good temperament test that wasn't on their way out I just say puppy because that would be ideal lol

Lol I can actually relate. But I'm trying to be smart about it. I'd like to find a male for my Bernese Mnt Dog female, but I haven't found one yet. But my eyes are open and I'm always really disappointed when they don't end up being what I hoped. lol
