Does anyone else get excited over braxton hicks? I finally started getting them and I love it! Sure they're a little uncomfortable, but it means my uterus is preparing itself!! Go uterus!

Yeah, mine are early and frequent, lol! They don't bug me. I do feel like they go higher this pregnancy though and it kind of takes my breath away a bit but it's nothing bad.

ba ha ha ha!!! Kendal!

Well, I never had them with my first 2 and barely had a few with my last. Haven't had any yet, either. I feel for you mamas that have had activity so early on :hugs: I can't imagine and I certainly hope you get some sort of physical peace to at least allow good sleeps at night or a nap or two!

They started around 20 weeks with my son! Of course, i was waitressing and on my feet for 6 hours at a time. I've been waiting and waiting for them... finally! They don't bother me at all. I could sleep through 'em, if I even have them while sleeping. I wouldn't know!

Since week 8 I could do without them. The more frequent they are, the more I worry about going into PTL again. But I only get about 6-10 a day at this point which is NOTHING compared to the 6 an hour i had my first pregnancy.

I never had them with my DD, so, I honestly don't know what they would feel like... I get sudden pains occasionally, but I usu chalk that up to her moving strange ways...
Is it normal/ok not to have them??

I've been getting them for awhile now but they've been getting more frequent and uncomfortable lately. They take my breath away like a pp mentioned above. They're particularly uncomfortable and frequent right after DTD. I can't say I love or hate them. They're just a part of the process.

Melissa... it's quite normal not to feel them (I don't know if everyone has them and some feel them and some don't or if we also just don't have them...) I didn't have them/didn't feel them with my first 2 and L&D was a breeze, so I barely had anything with #3 and she was the fastest L&D, so I don't think they are a requirement for anything in particular...

It is normal to have them, and normal to not feel them.

Basically your entire stomach turns into a rock. Sometimes its enough to take my breath away for a moment.

Whats NOT normal is when they are coming more than 6 an hour, for longer than a minute, for more than 1 hour. As always you should first try and hydrate & lay on your left side for an hour and take a warm bath. Once in the 3rd trimester, if you feel comfortable, you can try a 4oz glass of wine. If all 3-4 don't stop them, then make a call to your caregiver.

I have an irritable uterus, so I can go up to 8 an hour before I have to make a call -- but things have been MUCH better this pregnancy compared to my first.

I'd be okay with it, except this go around they're accompanied by downward pressure, which is just freaking me out.

I think I am having them too. Specially when going from sitting to standing and when I walk. I don't even have to walk very long and I get a tightening. Not sure if it's BH or if babies are just get all balled up in the front.

I have one hour test glucose test tomorrow so I am going to ask.

Aww I feel for you ladies with the painful ones! In the last few weeks of my son's pregnancy, they were pretty painful. I'd get a ton every night
