Some of you might remember me posting a couple weeks ago about the voluntary layoff at work. Well i got an email today saying I'm eligible (which really makes me think my jobs on the chopping block anyways, because quite honestly... I don't see how they can afford to lose me (always exceeds expectations performance reviews, lower paid employee in an area we are already short staffed). I have a workshop type meeting on Monday I'm invited to attend that explains the process and what I'd get in my severance package. From there I can decide yay or nay.
I just know that if I can get what I'm expecting (based on the guy who got laid off recently whose worked here half the time I have....) then I should have no reason not to accept. And from what I have read, companies tend to offer more to voluntary layoff employees then non-voluntary).
This is great news, although unfortunate for them to be losing such a valuable employee. I think it will all work out and the timing couldn't be better. I hope you get everything you want in your severance package!!
