They want 139 or less and I was 171. Not that I should be surprised.

I report to out patient at the hospital Monday at 7:30am for my 3 hour test. I will also make an appointment with my Endo while I am there since he is in the hospital too.

Oh and then Tuesday in addition to my hydroxy progesterone I am also scheduled to get my rhogam.

What a fun week this will be!

Boo! Sorry. Maybe you'll pass your 3 hour after all though.

That would be super awesome but I am not going to hold my breath. It's ok though. I've been watching my carbs already I will just have to be a little more watchful. No more afternoon hot chocolates. ha!

For my first 2 pregnancies, I failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour, so there's a good hope for you yet Did you have to fast or did you eat beforehand? It seems that each doc says something different, it's no wonder that everyone doesn't fail the 1 hour!

Have you had to do the 3 hour before? It's a total bear, but if you have a snack handy until you are able to find a place to eat for afterwards, you should be OK. I feel like passing out and am SOOO shaky after the 3 hour that I practically pack a sack lunch AND go eat for right after. Sucks.

My 1 hour is in a couple weeks and I wonder if I'll pass this time around. I've got it in my head that I won't, but I've been told by the lab to not eat for 2 hours ahead and by my doc to not eat for 8-10 hours before, so I'm going to do what will give me the best chances!

I failed both a 1 hour and a 3 hour with my daughter. I was so freaking sick after it was all I could do to get to food.

Then with Flynn I failed the one hour at 9 weeks and refused the 3 hour and made an appointment to start testing.

With all three one hour tests I went first thing in the AM so it had been about 10 hours since I had eaten.

For this 3 hour I will take a snack for after and maybe eat in the hospital caf after the test and before I head to work.

That stinks!! Actually I have heard that not fasting gives more accurate results. I am surprised to hear there are still doctors out that there say to fast. Not having anything for 2-3 hours before is okay but going 8+ tends to make the results skewed based upon a few studies I read about and what my doula friends have told me. It is not natural for your body to starve and then be hit with a huge dose of sugar to process in my opinion. I almost hate to take that stupid test anymore and told my midwife if I had to fast I would refuse it!

Eat a protein only breakfast and take some protein with you for after the test. That should help. Hope you pass the 3 hour!!!!! I guess the good thing is......we all have about 3 months left :0

That's what I was going to do, Allie... Eat at about 3 or so hours ahead of time, eggs, cheese, meat and that's it. Maybe like a little omelet. Water, of course. UG. I dread this test.

Since I have to be there at 7:30am I won't be up 3 hours before to eat but I will probably have something before bed. My morning numbers were always worse if I didn't have a bed time snack.

Really this is just the kick in the pants I need to get back to the Endo. I have an enlarged thyroid that hasn't been checked since just after Flynn was born.

hang in there! I failed as well and they immediately sent me to the diabetes center. Checking sugars regularly and following the meal plan. I don't think I was eating enough at all. Make sure to be getting your protein in with carbs! Best of luck on the 3 hour

I failed my 1 hour with my first and passed my 3 hour. I am going to do my one hour this week I think. I dread it. Good luck. I hate the 3 hour; it's miserable.

I failed my 1 hour test too. Got a 171. Took it on Thursday at 3:30pm and wasn't told to fast - my doc just told me not to eat a bowl of skittles or anything for breakfast. So I had a smoothie for breakfast and a salad for lunch.

Then I drank the nasty orange drink, had my blood drawn, had my regular exam, got a rhogam shot, got a tetanus/diptheria/pertussis shot and then another blood draw for the test. It was a pretty awful appointment to say the least!

Got my test result online Thursday evening but haven't heard from my doc yet as to when I have to take the 3-hour and whether or not I will have to fast. Not looking forward to it at all!

Sorry you failed it. I bet the 3 hour test is miserable.

I take my 1 hour tomorrow and praying I pass because from the sounds of the 3 hour test I am not looking forward to taking it.

I was just looking at my instructions and I am not suppose to Fast. Regular breakfast and drink the glucola 45 minutes prior to my appointment which is at 10:00. Not suppose to eat or drink or chew cum until blood is drawn.

Oh Swade, I'm so sorry. I hate this part of pregnancy. I hope you pass your 3 hour without a problem!

With the first 2, I failed the 1 hour and had to take the 3 hour. They made me so shaky and sick, I could barely care for myself, much less my kids. Both times I passed the 3 hour test and turns out my sugar drops like a rock after the 1st hour. (Which I told them...) This time, I'm refusing the test and opting to test my sugar 4 times a day instead. I'll be moving and switching doctors about the time of the testing anyway, so it's better to do it this way so I can give my next doctor information before my file gets switched over.
