So I went to the DR. on Monday and wanted to give you ladies an update! My pain has been confirmed as SPD and it SUCKS!!! My Dr. said that the pain would get progressively worse with subsequent pregnancies so if I wasn't done before, I truly think I am now. I'm not sure I can do this again He did check me, just in case and I am closed so nothing to worry about down there for now and I go back on the 30th at 30 weeks. He said the only things to do for SPD are Tylenol and rest. He said that I could try prenatal yoga to see if the stretching helps but he would leave that up to me. I also got a support belt but that thing just makes me need to pee, I'm sure it would help though if I gave it time!! He also said I should alternate and ice pack and heating pad which has been helping some!

I also had my 1 hour glucose test and that was nasty as expected! I was pretty careful with what I ate on Sunday and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I pass.

On another note, last night DH and I went to the Baseball game for his birthday and we ended up on the kiss cam on the big screen at the stadium!! It was pretty neat even though I had just finished this really BIG ice cream cone!! I'm so glad I was done with that, I would have been mortified!!!

Praying that you really don't experience much greater pain. You need a break! Maybe the ice pad and heat pad will give you some relief, more than what's expected.

FX that you passed the GTT test! and FUN that you were on the Kissing Cam. I always think that's a fun part of the game

Sorry about the pain! Hopefully the ice will help. I use a belt too and it makes me pee, but when I am going to be on my feet I use it and it helps quite a bit.

SPD does suck! Pretty sure I had it with #2 & now much worse with #3. Soooo worth it in the end, but man it's rough! Hoping you pass your glucose test!

Hey Angie! I had SPD with my last pregnancy but it didn't rear its ugly head this time, thankfully. I'm sorry you are in so much pain.. I'm suffering from pretty nasty swelling over here. I miss my ankles, lol. My next appointment is on the 30th, too. Hope everything goes well with the 1 hour. I just barely failed mine and had to so the 3 hour and it was a PITA!

((hugs)) I've never had SPD but I have had several friends who have, and it seems awful. I don't blame you for not wanting to experience it again. I hope that what you are doing helps!

((HUGS))

I had bad SPD my first pregnancy and don't have it this time at all! (yet). So it might not be true that you will get it again Your body changes after the 1st. My hips and pelvis stayed more wide than pre-pregnancy which is leaving more room for babies head in my pelvis thus, no pain

Yuck, sorry you are having that pain. I've been having what I think is RLP and constant back pain and it sucks, but probably nothing like what you're going through.

I found a neat article about SPD if you are interested...

I have had horrible SpD starting around 15 weeks. I was so bad at one point I could barely walk but then I started seeing a chiropractor and doing physical therapy and the pain has reduced to the point I barely notice it.

Thanks girls!! I have been doing some research and as SCARED as I am of the chiropractor, I really think that might be my best option. I just hate them, nothing is worse than the sound of bones cracking!! At this point, though, if I want to continue working for the next 9 weeks or so, I'm going to have to do something!
