Heres a recent article that covers the dangers of forward facing carriers, such as the baby bjorn. It's interesting, and kind of a reminder as to why its important to know what kind of carrier to invest in

I've been wanting to weigh-in too! LOL! Don't know why that other thread is so weird... I like the plum or the teal dots!

I think you are too kind. Kind people give the people around them a hard time. You can't express yourself honestly, because you are worried about hurting other people's feelings, and that makes you miserable.~"Winter Sonata"

I forward carried my son but only here and there and never for very long at a time. I would also likely do the same with this new baby.

I can see leaving them that way for hours being bad though.

We have a snuggli and use the crap out of it. I keep trying to find a sling carrier I like for newborn carrying but I have yet to find one that works for us.

It isn't really about recommending slings over front carriers.

Hip Health in Baby Carriers, Baby Seats, and Other Equipment | International Hip Dysplasia Institute

Babies' legs should be able to sit naturally instead of being forced together. I got a front carrier, Ergobaby, specifically because of how wide the base is where baby sits.

We just recently bought a Tula and I love, love, LOVE it. I have been carrying DD2 in it since she's my runner and I'm not a fan of kid leashes. She sat in it for a whole hour during my last trip to the grocery store and even spent about an hour in it at the two high schools I visited this week. It's really comfortable and I'm so glad I'll have a way to keep her with me when we stop on our trip to Florida tomorrow.

I've got a strip of fabric, that I wrap like a moby I guess.

I've never really worn my babies forward facing. Erin didn't really like it, and it's just overall more comfortable for me to have their legs hugging me (feels more secure?). I have some pictures of me wearing Patrick on my back at Rocky Mountain National Park when he was 15 months old, but apparently I don't have them online anywhere so I can't share them :/
