my doctor sent me to labor and delivery yesterday to be tested for preeclampsia. i don't have it (thankfully), but they mentioned that my fluid level was at a 9.4. i'm 30w1d. with my first son, my levels were extremely high at like 18. just curious to see if anyone else has been told their fluid level??

also, the midwife said the majority of fluid is all on my right side - which would explain why i hardly ever feel the baby on the left side. does that sound normal?!

Checking fluid levels is part of the regular biophysical profile ultrasound. The normal range is between 8-18, so while on the lower end, you're still in the normal range. Your levels go down if you're dehydrated, so you could try upping your liquid intake.

And if your baby is squished up on the left side, then there wouldn't be room for fluid there. It moves around, around your baby. I've had BPPs (not with with pregnancy, but with others) where all my fluid seemed to be in one area, too, because the baby was squished in the corner.

Thats normal -- mine at 31w, 3d was 14.95. On the higher end which is why I probably feel EVERYTHING and my belly is measuring large.

This is something else I have never been told. I wouldn't worry. Try and up your fluids see if that helps.

With my first pregnancy my fluid level @ 36 weeks was 9. We don't know why I lost my son but sometimes I wonder if it could have possibly had anything to do with the fluids being on the low side. Not trying to freak you out just giving you my honest opinion. I would make sure to drink lots of water if you aren't already and make sure you're eating healthy.
