The general reason for the laxative is they don't want her to push in order to poop "just in case" the pushing causes her water to break or something. But the laxative is going to make her dehydrate, which is going to set of contractions.

I got out today. Thank goodness. Now I'm wondering if they just held me hostage because I have good insurance (and a lot of the people that normally go to that hospital are on state insurance, other than the ones that transfer in for the NICU)...and also wondering if that's maybe why they didn't try to stop the contractions and seemed to almost want me to go into labor.....cuz they knew that'd be a huge bill paid by insurance with 32 weekers. I thought they were supposed to try to stop it up til 34 weeks with twins and like 36 with one baby. I dunno, maybe I'm just paranoid...but there were things that just did not add up.

I'm feeling a bit of contracting again, unfortunately, since getting home...but nothing too bad. I think its the stairs. I'm going to have to limit my trips up and down, which is kind of hard since our house is a split-level. :/ I don't think I'm going to make it more than a week, two if I'm lucky.... ugh. I'm totally chilling and not doing anything now. The good news is, my SIL has a lot of time off next week and will be taking the kids off my hand and helping out..so I'll get more rest than normal. And my mom is making me dinner for most days, so we don't have to worry about that.

So glad you are home and have help. If they haven't already, I'd put yourself on strict bedrest, and no stairs FX you can make it to 34 weeks! will you deliver at that hospital if you can hold off until 34 wks? or can you deliver at your original hospital?

35 weeks is the magic number for my regular hospital. I'm definitely taking it as easy as I can. Funny thing is, my discharge instructions were "activity as tolerated"..was surprised by that...

^^ yeah, that's kind of fishy Good thing is that you are nearly 33 weeks as it is. Hopefully these babies can hold out 2 more weeks and you can rest up during that time! Hang in there!
