After many trips to L&D Zackary Michael made it to his scheduled c-section date of 6/28/13. I woke up that morning at 3am since I couldn't sleep I was so excited. I got ready and then woke the rest of the house and got everyone and all the last minute stuff taken care of. We arrived at the hospital at 5:30am. I was taken back right away to get all situated. I was given the gown, hooked up to the monitors and given my iv. After I was all set I just had to wait till our scheduled time. Mike was with me. At 7:30 I was wheeled back into the OR and given the spinal and all hooked up and ready to go. Mike was brought back to sit with me. It took about 10-15 minutes and then they pulled him out. He was born at 7:53am. They held up a mirror but it was still hard to see him come out. After that it seemed to be forever before they gave him to Mike but we knew he was perfectly healthy since he was screaming the whole time The nurses kept telling us how cute he was lol At one point I asked to see the placenta and it was really neat to look at. After they were done with the delivery part, they moved onto tying my tubes. Then we were taken back into recovery. I was not feeling good at all. I could not really feel my arms so it took maybe half an hour to an hour before I felt comfortable enough to hold him. I almost got sick once while in recovery. Then they wheeled me to my pp room. All the moving caused me to get sick. I spent the next few hours throwing up. They finally gave me meds and I was ok after that. The nurse said it was more than likely from the pain meds in my iv. The first day was tough. It took a long time it seemed to get full feeling back in my legs. The next day I was able to get whenever I wanted since they had removed the catheter and iv. That night though I was in a ton of pain by morning but by that night I was feeling better. After that the worst was over.
Last belly picture before he arrived.
