I was 11 days over due, Baby was due 28/6 and I woke up at 5:30am with pain on the 8/7. As we had spent the night the week before on the labour ward which turned out to be false labour I wasn't sure whether it was real.
I downloaded a contraction app to my phone and started timing, my contractions were not regular and lasting different times, I decided to go in the bath at 6:30am, the pains kept coming, so i got out of the bath at around 6:50am and decided it was time to tell DH I was in labour and let my mum know as she was coming to the hospital with us, I called my mum at 7:10am and she told me to get ready and she would come round to our house, I called the hospital and they told me to come on straight in.
I woke up my little boy and got him ready for school, text my sister and asked her to drop him off, all the time the pains were getting worse and a little closer together. We set off to my sisters and the traffic was really bad and I knew it would be and on the main road to the hospital, but I knew we had to get there, I wasn't coping very well and needed some pain relief.
We got to my sisters at 8:20am, mum told me to come in and wait for a while to see if the traffic quietened down, I sat down and got an almighty contraction which seemed to last for ages, I told mum I needed the toilet and she tried to help me up and the POP my waters brake, Mum helps me upstairs into my sisters bathroom and I try going to the toilet.
To my horror I can feel her coming, by this time (8:41) my sister has phoned an ambulance and they are told to get me flat on the floor, I am terrified and trying to stop myself pushing, but as you know there is no way to stop yourself, the 999 operator is talking my mum and sister through it and i can feel her coming and I know there is no stopping her, I let myself go and push, her head and then her body, 2 pushes!
My beautiful baby girl was born at 8:51am right into her nanas hands, mum was told to ensure she was breathing and had a clear airway and then place her on my stomach for skin to skin, and to keep her warm. The ambulances arrived at 8:54am and took over care, they cut her cord and got me up from the floor and onto my sisters bed to deliver the placenta, which came at 9:30am.
The midwife arrived at 9:40am and checked over both me and the baby and we decided that there was no need to go to the hospital.
