This is my third child but my youngest born one is a senior in high school. I have a couple of people at work who want to throw me a baby shower and a couple of friends who probably will too. Since this is technically my third child, should I not register anywhere and just be thankful for what I get or should I go ahead and register? I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter!

I am just greatful I am getting a shower and don't want to seem presumptuous.

I would definitely register. People won't know what you need if you don't register. Plus most places give you a coupon to use for anything on your register that you don't get. This is my third child and I will definitely be registering.

I would still register. This my 5th and my youngest is 2 but my BFF is throwing me a shower and I'm registering. I didn't think folks got wrapped up in traditional so called "etiquette" any more. Lots of people are just doing it their own way these days. If you are indeed having a shower though you should register so they know what to get you.

Register! This is my third and I've never had a shower but I registered with my first and was super grateful for the things that I got that I actually needed. I didn't register with my second and didn't get anything. This time I'll register in case any family is feeling ultra generous. :-)

I hate registering! I think it's so tacky and weird. However, I do it. I made the "mistake" of skipping it once and people were soooooo annoyed. Haha!

I think you should go for it. People like to know what to get and our culture has grown to anticipate that we will give them a list of things we must have.

I too want to add that registaring would help people who want to give you something and not sure what you already have... and since your youngest is in High school lots have changed in products.... Plus after the due date you would most likely get a % off coupon for you to use on all the products not purchased off of your registry... I found this to be a great bonus for me...
For me I do feel weird doing a registry for the second but I think I'll do the registry on things I will need and wait for the % off coupon for me and if there is a shower thrown for me then it'll be a bonus but I'm not expecting one at all...
