Last night I had some cramps -- nothing severe so I just brushed it off. This morning I woke up and my breasts, which have been sore for 3 weeks now, weren't sore at all and my bloated belly was totally deflated. In a brilliant ( ) move, I googled "loss of symptoms" and found out that it could be a sign of a miscarriage.

I spent the whole day anxious and upset. I broke down during my lunch period and just sobbed. Finally, I got an appointment with the on-call doctor to check things out.

They weighed me and I noticed that I had lost 2 pounds from last week (weight loss can be another sign of miscarriage -- darn you google and your stupid medical information!) and that made me even more upset because my appetite has been incredible and I'm not getting sick all day long. After waiting forever (including going over our medical history which I kept thinking was stupid because by this point, I was convinced the baby was gone), they did an u/s........

......and I got to see my teeny tiny little baby!

I'm measuring a bit ahead of my calculations (6w, 5d). I couldn't hear the heartbeat but I could see it flickering on the screen. One little adorable baby that's the size of a pea right now. What a relief!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel so much better now that I've gotten to see this little baby. Oh, and I totally got a little boy vibe when I looked at the screen. It'll be a while before we see if my instincts were right!

Thanks! Apparently, it's not uncommon for symptoms to come and go during the first trimester -- and to abruptly end. If I hadn't done the google search, I wouldn't have been so worried, but being 38 and at a higher risk for miscarriage, I think it made sense to panic like I did. Sometimes the internet gives you too much information!

Yay!!!! So glad you got to see the heartbeat! Sometimes, it's just better to call and go in when you're anxious rather than continue to stress about it. With 2 of my pregnancies, I was stressing myself out so badly, that I gave my MW a call, told her what I was feeling, and she brought me in to give me u/s!
