Cleaning an uncut penis is no different then cut really, I had a dr forcibly retract my sons and it did cause a few issues - he has had one very bad infection because of it but otherwise no infections! I didn't have the slightest clue at the time the damage that could be done with forceful retraction and it was a new dr. Needless to say we've never gone back! After that I ALWAYS made sure that they knew what they were doing before examining my son, but have not had any other drs that were uneducated in that aspect.

There is no reason to retract the foreskin. in fact this usually is the start of problems. Foreskins should be left alone until a boy is able to pull it back himself. Care wise you don't have to do anything, when a boy can pull it back himself he can clean it himself with water. My son is 6 and I don't fiddle about with it and never have, so care wise it is no different. He has never smelled and never had problems. Expecting a boy again and he shall remain intact as well, but this decision doesn't even seem to be a decision in England, just the norm to leave willies as they are. I have a daughter as well and I have found girls have more problems, I've had to deal with rashes and sore mini's but never a sore penis.

I'm one of the rare American moms with an intact son, too. I only had to warn healthcare providers once to not forcibly retract his foreskin. Other than that, there's no difference from other boys. We just leave it be. And we never had to worry about keeping his healing penis clean when he was a tiny baby with liquid poo that got everywhere!
