I was surprised not to see any posts about this (my search on JM came up with nothing). I was told at my 20 week sono that our baby has bilaterial CPCs on her brain. With my first tri screenings coming back negative and with no other markers, this basically doesn't mean anything. I'm over the freaking out stage, thankfully, and I was just looking for other mommies that might have dealt with/are dealing with this. I do not plan to do an amnio or any further investigation unless my doctor changes his recommendation.
If you don't know about CPCs, either google it or you can click this link. After spending hours...no...days poring over website after website, I was not able to find a single negative outcome from this u/s finding.
I'm kind of in the same situation, but for a different reason. All of my screening tests also came back negative for genetic problems, but the doctor was concerned at the 20 week scan about the baby's heart (one size is bigger than the other). So I have to go to genetic counseling and have a fetal echocardiogram done next week to make sure it's nothing serious. I am looking forward to it all being over with.
