Here is a quick background: My name is Elle We have been TTC our first since April of 2012. I have had 2 previous losses the first one at 12 weeks that was molar (so followed by 6 months of testing and being on "cancer watch") and the second one at 8 weeks and was not molar.
A summary of the pregnancy so far:
The first trimester I was pretty nervous the entire time. I had an U/S every other week from weeks 6-12 which was very comforting to me. I threw up on a very regular basis and was extremely nauseous but that helped me feel like things were going on the right track.
At 12 weeks we had our NT scan and everything was negative.
At 16 weeks we had an elective U/S and found out the sex of the baby!
It's a. . . .
. . . .
. . . .
We told our families that weekend with the poppers I made. They were pretty fun but didn't quite work how I expected. But they did make a big pink confetti mess that was lots of fun They are all so excited!!
We wont pick a name until she is born but we plan to narrow the options down to a maximum of 3 before we actually go to the hospital. We want to meet her before we give her her name.
So we are Team PINK!!!
At 18 Weeks we had our anatomy scan and everything went really well. I could tell at one point the tech was worried about baby's heart but the doctor didn't seem to think anything was wrong when she came in.
I did find out I have a low (and confirmed anterior) placenta so that is something we will be keeping an eye on and will require another U/S later on.
That brings us to today. I am 19W4 days and I have been feeling much better. I am still not really showing at all or feeling baby kick but I hope that happens soon!! We finally announced to all of our friends and family through a moving announcement this week. I will try and get a pic of one to post on here.
I am pretty sure I finally felt kicking!!! All last night as I was laying in bed I kept feeling some really soft tapping and when I shifted just a little they turned into full on kicks. I tried to wake up DH to feel but by the time he got his hand to my tummy she had stopped. I am pretty excited though and I hope she keeps them coming!!
We started our Bradley method birthing classes last week and I am really enjoying them. It is nice to feel like I am doing something especially since I cant really buy anything or decorate until we move in a month. I really love all the daily exercises they have taught us so far and feel like they are already preparing me more.
I am still not showing all that much - especially in the mornings. Once i have eaten I get a round belly but that feels a little like cheating. People are noticing now though so that is something
Other than that my symptoms have been pretty normal - I have BH at random but most of my other symptoms are pretty mild. My next appointment is next Monday and is just a general check up but I am excited to hear baby girl's heartbeat
It may feel like cheating, but I pick my "roundest" moments to take my belly shots Hopefully when all is said and done, my memory will be foggy and I won't remember feeling chubby through half of my pregnancy!! LOL
I had my monthly check up today. I got to ask my doc a lot of questions and we ended up talking for quite a while it was really nice. She is on board with my birth plan and supports me having a doula and even suggested one I also got to hear her heartbeat and everything sounded good so that was all exciting.
The not so exciting part is that she wants me to come in this week for an U/S. I am excited about seeing baby girl. . . it is just worrisome that she thinks something may be wrong. She is worried because I haven't really felt many kicks yet and I have more BH than she would expect at 23 weeks. So I have an U/S early Friday morning to make sure everything is alright. We are also checking in to see if my placenta has moved up yet.
Had my glucose screening at my monthly appointment last week. The results for that and my CBC came back and everything looks good. We also reviewed the results of my U/S from last month and they said baby girl is measuring right on track for everything and is in the 50th percentile now.
I am starting to feel movement more frequently now but it isnt very regular. There was one night last week where I swear she was doing somersaults all night
I am certainly starting to feel more pregnant now - my back hurts quite a bit but other than that things are still going well.
My next appointment will be at 31 weeks for a general check up and then my every 2 week appointments begin!!
