As you ladies know I had an induction scheduled for Monday, March 31, per my blood pressure and p-creat ratio came back bad. Sure enough, my BP was 156/98 and the ratio was 1.355. (Normal is to have none.) OB came in to talk to us during my NST and the 3 of us decided to officially induce labor. I was given the medication that they insert onto your cervix to finish dilating before they broke my water, unless this stuff made me go into active labor on my own. That was at about 10 am on Monday, and by 11:00 pm after 3 doses of this cervix medication I was still only dilated at 1 and nothing seemed to be happening. During the night while I slept, apparently the baby's heartbeat dropped each time I had a contraction (BH ones still). The nurses on duty called my OB and at about 4:00 am Tuesday he woke me up and explained the situation to a drowsy DH and me. Basically my placenta couldn't handle this, due to being stressed with the pre-e already. They prepped me for C-section at about 5:30, DH joined me in the OR at 6:06, and we heard those sweet little cries at 6:17. She was 5lbs and 6 oz, just a little peanut; and she spent no time in the NICU as everything looked very healthy and good. DH and 2 of the nurses took her back to our L&D room in the Panda warmer and OB closed. pretty soon I joined them and was able to immediately start skin to skin. This was such an amazing experience, there are no words. Thankfully she latched on right away and is now a pro at breastfeeding. My milk came in around the end of day 2, into day 3; so far supply has exceeded demand. She roomed in the room with DH and I until Friday, when we were discharged and went home. Now she is 5 days old and doing so good. She has a good amount of blonde hair and dark blue eyes. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful daughter.
I can't seem to get pictures to work but I will keep trying!
