Does anyone currently CD? Have you in the past? I'm interested in CD this LO but want to know what is the best route to go. If you have what was your favorite? If you could post a link that would be awesome. TIA for the information!

I did with my last for nb stage I liked my greenmountain fitteds with a cover although I got one size amd one size doesn't work that great for nb...once he was around 4 months I loved pocket diapers my favorite was kawaii pockets...I also used some alvas which are cheap, but take forever to get them since it is out of country. I'm hoping to cd this one also, I was told once you can wash them in all free amd clear and I did now anytime I put them on him and he pees they smell so bad and I've stripped them so not sure what the problem is this time I will only use what the stores reccommend

Me! I started cloth diapering when my 2 year old was a little baby and I have to say, I'm kind of excited that I'll get to use them on another baby, especially since he's potty training.

I prefered prefolds and my Thirsties covers (with velcro) for the little baby stage. Honestly, we'd still use prefolds if he wasn't too big for them to use as anything more than to lay in the middle. We like flats and contours with covers, but also use Sunbabies and Alvas and like those well enough too.

We've always used Tide original to wash the diapers and it's worked well for us. Once every few months I do a strip, but for the most part just doing an extra rinse or two works well enough.

Oh and I can hunt some links up for you! Hold on.

JM has a great cloth diapering board, and (well in the past, I haven't been by in a long time) they are usually good to answer questions:

I did cloth with my first, but stopped around 15 months because it became more of a hassle than a help. I sold off my stash last week since I don't plan to CD #2, washing is enough of a pita without a toddler and a newborn!

I do! I have an excessive amount of them. Like 6 dozen. I have sunbaby, kawaii and Krocket Pockets. They are all pocket diapers, but I use them as covers and lay the inserts inside. I use charcoal bamboo inserts. I have been experimenting with washing without 'soap' I use bleach and TTO to wash. It works great honestly, no smell and you don't have to worry about searching for a 'safe' laundry soap, or having different laundry soap for diapers and clothing.

You know I am We've been a 100% cloth diaper house since March 2010. I have had at least one (two for a while) in diapers every day since then. I am SO excited to have newborn diapers again.I will use NB Alva and bumGenius the first few weeks then move to our OS bumGenius Freetimes. I have a while stash of them.

We do! Right now my favorites are my own home sewn ones and BumGenius Freetimes. I started with Alva's and Sunbaby diapers, both available cheap from china (but they take forever to get to you! LOL)

My favorites were actually just prefolds and Thirsties covers. We switched to fleece pockets when she got bigger but for this baby I'd like to just get bigger prefolds and covers.

We CD'd our boys, but after the youngest boy grew out of the stash we had, at the time we couldn't afford to buy more and bought sposies. So it's been sposies ever since.

For those that cloth diaper.. who uses AIO's or AI2's (with snap in soakers)? What brand's do you use? Right now we use BumGenius Freetimes and Little Rebel Bottoms AIO's and AI2's but I am curious about what other people use

We use Sunbabies and Alvas (pockets) half the time - Sunbabies mainly for night time. The rest of the time we use flats and contours. The flats are just some flour sack towels from Wal-Mart and cost like $3 a pack for 5. The contours are homemade from a lady in my daughter's PR who gifted them to us when Mase was born. I love those the most. I use Thirsties covers with them, but those are like in desperate need of replacing. lol

I CD my first with AIO and pockets and much preferred the pockets so I'm going to try prefolds with this one as well. Not only did they pay for themselves by their re-usability, but the resale value is amazing. I have a friends who gets more for her used than she paid. It's an odd market out there. I don't understand paying more just to get a specific pattern. I try to get white if I can. But the point is even if you wind up not liking CD, you will probably be able to get most if not all of your money back in re-sale. So, it is a really safe investment.
