I'm a lite sleeper so I lay Declan down on my chest and he's on his belly he sleeps a good while like that and when I feel I have to turn I turn still holding him against me but he is on his side. During the day he sleeps in his crib. I know doctors don't recommend that you sleep with baby but its worked for all three of kids.
There are many things you can try, but I feel a good consistent bedtime routine can make the world of difference. Providing your baby isn't overtired, having a solid 20-30 routine every day (finishing with a feed and making sure he doesn't fall asleep until he's in his crib) can make him sleep longer at night.
