During my first appointment I had to give them a urine sample. But that was to confirm my pregnancy not to do tests or anything. And then for my second one (it was also my dating ultrasound) I had to give them a urine sample. None since then though. And as for blood I had one done at 11 weeks (it was for the triple screening and they also tested my blood to make sure that I had immunity to chicken pox and mussels and also to figure out what blood type I was) and then I had blood drawn again at 15 weeks (again for the triple screening test). But I haven't had any more blood taken since then. As for the urine samples I think it depends on what kind of doctor you go and see. The one I normally see is just a family doctor and she doesn't really take samples for anything. At our monthly appointments she just asks me if I have any edema in my hands or feet, how I'm feeling in general and then we listen to the babies heartbeat. But she also isn't a very good doctor. If I didn't live in a tiney town I would switch. Tomorrow I go see my Obgyn and I'm pretty sure he will take a urine sample. I always thought they did this at every appointment to test for protein in your urine but maybe not? Sorry if I wasn't helpful but I'm a ftm. I remember both my sisters saying they gave urine samples at every appointment but maybe every doctor is different

They take urine every time I go and there is the random blood test for certain crap that I have no idea about. I am so use to it after so many kids I just let em take the blood and keep going. I had some kind of blood test last time I went. She told me what it was for but I spaced it. I have taken twice so far though. I never seem to have a bad result so I just don't pay much attention. I am sure tomorrow she will want me to get my glucose test done soon. I HATE that nasty orange drink. Maybe you should ask next time you go. There should have been some kind of test performed at this stage I would think.

I give a urine sample every time I go, and they have drawn blood twice. Iknow y glucose test is coming up around 26 weeks or so, then at around 28 weeks I hae to have a rhogam shot because I am RH neg, and I am supposed to be going back every three weeks and having a u/s done every time, but at my last appt they still had not gotten the reports from the specialist that did my big u/s....super frustrating. I should call them to day

Urine tests are standard at the OBs I've been to while pregnant (this is my 3rd OB). They are usually checking for UTIs because pregnant women don't often feel the symptoms. They also check your sugar levels that way to see if they need to do the glucose test sooner.

I go every week, sometimes every other week if they feel im doing well enough. But i get a urine test every time. Only have had a blood draw a couple times (once for the Panorama) i didnt do any of the other tests though (like the quad or tri screen etc). Have yet to do a non-stress test and a glucose test though but those re usually later on in 3rd tri i think.

blood tests are at certain weeks and urine is every visit. I think they check for proteins.

I have urine every visit. They check for blood in the urine as well as sugar and protein. I have only had blood drawn in the very beginning. The next time will be at 24 weeks when I do the glucose test. I can't remember if there is another blood test after that.

Maybe it was cause I was seeing the military doctors and I only did urine in the beginning and then after that I had blood once and a glucose test, but when I went in they didn't take urine each time. Made me a bit confused quite honestly.

I have to give urine everytime. I remember with my first son, Hubby asked (after the 2nd appt) if they were making sure I was still pregnant. It wasn't until after the anatomy scan that we found out why.
